L'église Sainte-Victoire de Victoriaville

The heritage site of Sainte-Victoire Church includes the church, the presbytery and the cemetery. The erection of the stone church was completed in 1897. It was renovated in 1960 and 1996. The cemetery is one of 50 cemeteries to preserve, according to the book Cemeteries-Heritage for the Living (published by GID Publishing in 2006). This place has been recognized as a heritage site.

The exceptional stained glass windows made by Hobbs & Cie in Montreal date back to 1928 and adorn the walls around the church and the sacristy. The nobility of the wood is omnipresent in the choice of the interior decoration, the pulpit, the choir and its canopy, the woodwork of the portico and the stairs. The path of the cross is a beautiful specimen of neogothic influence with its bright colors and gilding. The Casavant organ, opus 11, bought in 1900 includes 23 games on two keyboards. The organist Lucien Daveluy left his mark occupying the position of organist and chapelmaster from 1916 to 1972. The interest of the site comes from the association of architects Louis Caron father (1848-1917) and Louis Caron son (1871-1926), draughtsmen of some 20 churches in the diocese of Nicolet.
